I am new to metal detecting and I have been wanting to do this for over a year. I finally have some time to see if this is something that I will enjoy. So I did a small investment in buying the equipment that was needed to get me started. I have decided to document every adventure from day one of my equipment arrival. So far I have received items 1-4, I am still waiting on items 7 (to be delivered today) and 5-6 (to be delivered tomorrow).
I am very excited to get started but I have a lot of reading and studying to do before I really get going.
I have 10.25 acres of land that I own and another 40 acres of land that I have permission for that is right next to me. The area that I live is within 5 miles of 2 Forts from the 1800s. Also the area is a Indian relocation reservation and the Indians were forced to move to Kansas to allow for expansion. I have done my research on the area as I have lived here almost my whole life and I know a number of good hunting grounds. I just need to start to get my permissions signed and equipment comfort level up and I will be ready to move to other areas.
